Futerra®  
     
 

Futerra® is a lightweight nonwoven erosion control/revegetation blanket comprised primarily of virgin wood fiber. Futerra® is manufactured by blending thermal mechanically-defribrated wood fiber with a small percentage of recycled synthetic fibers and forming them into a drapeable blanket. An accelerated photodegradable polypropylene netting is laminated to the surface of the blanket. Futerra® completely degrades on-site as grass grows through the blanket.

The wood fibers biodegrade adding organic material to the soil surface. Futerra® has been engineered to significantly reduce soil erosion and migration of the underlying seed bed, while enhancing seed germination and growth. Futerra® is dyed a natural turf green color to provide a temporary finished appearance until vegetation is established. It is also undyed in a natural wood color.
